Mobile Learning for Emergency Situations: Four Design Cases from Latin America

Abstract This practitioner-focused chapter addresses mobile learning in the Latin American context during COVID-19 emergency. To guarantee continuity of education pandemic, instructors adopted remote education. Even though much relied heavily on computers, millions learners America do not have a household computer. The focus generic technology applications regularly used by practitioners students. are: (1) foreign language social studies 1st – fourth graders using online blogs Brazil; (2) teaching STEM 8th–12th through media (i.e., YouTube/WhatsApp) Panama; (3) 6th–12th YouTube/WhatsApp/Facebook) Mexico, (4) humanities higher instant messaging cloud-based platforms WhatsApp, Google Drive platform) Colombia. Recommendations policymakers are provided.
